
It is our personal goal to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone attending Tomodachi Fest. In order for us to provide a safe and enjoyable experience the following rules and guidelines must be followed. By being a attendee of Tomodachi Fest, you agree to all of the rules and guidelines set forth by Tomodachi Fest whether written, spoken or implied and are to comply with any Tomodachi Fest staff in accordance with the rules and guidelines.
Tomodachi Fest staff watches for both rules and guidelines violations and criminal activity. Tomodachi Fest staff will handle all rules and guidelines violations on a case by case basis. All decisions by Tomodachi Fest staff are final. Criminal actions are referred to local law enforcement and will lead to immediate ejection from the convention.
Attendee or attendees who violate a rule(s) or guideline(s) unknowingly or inadvertently may be simply informed of the rule(s) or guideline(s) that are being violated.
Attendee or attendees in blatant violation of the rules or guidelines will be given a warning and have their name and badge number recorded. The attendee will be informed of the rules or guidelines he/she is in violation of.
Attendee or attendees in repeated violation of the rules or guidelines may result in having their badge revoked for the remainder of the convention and removal from the convention area.
Very serious offenses will result in the Attendee or attendees immediately removal from The Boise Hotel and Conference Center property and being banned from any future Tomodachi Fest events.
The following are not permitted at Tomodachi Fest and its surrounding parking lots. (Including but not limited to)
Sharing a badge between multiple people.
Failing to be fully or appropriately clothed.
Physically or verbally threatening, annoying, harassing, stalking, pushing, shoving or the use of physical force with or without the intent to harm a person(s).
Roughhousing.
Disruptive,or unsafe, or obnoxious behavior.
Excessive use of profanity or offensive language.
Sleeping in the convention areas.
Abusing, tampering or destruction of Tomodachi Fest equipment or property.
Abusing, tampering or destruction the Boise Hotel and Conference Center equipment or property.
Possessing or bringing firearms, functional projectile weapons, all live steel weapons, all forms of ammunition, and any dangerous items onto the Boise Hotel and Conference Center property or the parking lot.
Possessing any food or drinking beverages, except in areas specifically designated for the consumption of food and drinking beverages.
Possessing or the use of any illegal substance, narcotic, or any other illegal drug in or around the the Boise Hotel and Conferenece Center or the parking lot.
Smoking, other than in designated areas.
Violating any Federal, State or Local law or ordinance.
Poor hygiene.
Littering or throwing trash in or around the the Boise Hotel and Conference Center or the parking lot.
All firearms, functional projectile weapons, all live steel weapons, all forms of ammunition, and any dangerous items or ones that would place another in immediate harm are strictly forbidden. You may not carry or brandish any of these at any time in or around the Boise Hotel and Conference Center convention space or parking lot. This includes individuals who possess a weapons permit or a concealed weapons permit. Please leave your weapons at home.
Drawing a weapon in the convention space, including the parking lot, may result in the immediate confiscation of your badge without refund, ejection from the Tomodachi Fest event, and possibly being banned from all future Tomodachi Fest events.
Weapons purchased at the Tomodachi Fest Dealers room must be immediately moved either to your hotel room, to your car, or from the premises upon leaving the dealers room following the purchase.
Prop Weapons: Are self-crafted or homemade or commercially rendered costume props that coincide or improve the overall look of a costume or character. Metal-bladed prop weapons, which include any display of live steel, or prop weapons which may present a danger to others, are not allowed. No props may have any sharp edges or points.
Futuristic Replicas: Futuristic replicas are permitted that they are easily and obviously recognizable as such. Examples include phasers, ray/beam guns, energy weapons, or light-sabers.
Airsoft, Water Guns, and Squirt Guns: All airsoft, water guns and squirt guns, are allowed but must peace bonded by Tomodachi Fest Staff. All airsoft, water guns and squirt guns, must also have a clearly visible orange safety tip and must be decommissioned before being brought onto Boise Hotel and Conference Center convention space, meaning that they are incapable of fire. This may be done in a multitude of ways including removal of batteries, triggers, plugs, springs, and other parts, etc. Water guns and squirt guns must remain empty. Anyone found shooting or squirting any substance from any airsoft gun, water gun, squirt gun, Toy gun in the convention space or hotel will result in the immediate confiscation of your badge without refund, and ejection from the Tomodachi Fest event.
All prop weapons or futuristic replica when brought into the convention area must be immediately submitted to a member of the Tomodachi Fest staff at the registration table for approval and to be determine if any prop weapons or futuristic replica will need to be peace bonded. Removing or tampering with the peace bonding will result in immediate expulsion from Tomodachi Fest.
Tomodachi Fest attendees understand, agree and consent to Tomodachi Fest staff, to have the absolute and immediate right to inspect all props, weapons, futuristic props, and any other item(s) brought into the convention space by attendees.
Tomodachi Fest staff may at any time determine whether any particular costume, prop weapon, futuristic prop, or item(s) is or is not permitted at Tomodachi Fest. Attendees agree and will comply with the Tomodachi Fest staff’s final decisions. Refusal to remove prop weapon, futuristic prop, or item(s) from the premises may result in your ejection from Tomodachi Fest event.
If you're staying at the Boise Hotel and Conference Center please do not dye your hair, wigs, or clothing in the sinks or bathtubs. Makeup and Dyes, even temporary dyes, can permanently stain sinks, bathtubs, bedding, furniture, towels, & walls. Also keep in mind that temporary hair dyes and makeup can rub off onto walls, fabrics, and equipment, so please be careful that the Boise Hotel and Conference Center Hotel and Tomodachi Fest equipment do not end up getting damage by makeup and dyes. You will be responsible for the replacement or repair of damaged surfaces and materials.
A badge must be worn and visible at all times to gain access to all areas of the convention. Tomodachi Fest staff will inquire about anyone who does not appear to have a badge. If you place your badge in a difficult to see or inconvenient place, Tomodachi Fest staff will ask you to place your badge somewhere else. If you are not wearing a badge, you will be asked to leave the convention area immediately or purchase a badge. Damaged or lost badges may be replaced at the discretion of the Tomodachi Fest Registration Head Coordinator, the Vice Chairman, or the Convention Chairman. Replacement will be subject to a fee of $5. If you lose or damage your badge, please see the registration/info desk immediately.
Please keep in mind that Tomodachi Fest is an ALL AGES EVENT and that there will be minors attending Tomodachi Fest. No nudity is allowed! The display of bodily parts must be covered by a bikini (for women) or Speedos (for men). When choosing and creating your costume, please keep in mind the constraints of Boise Idaho’s local laws concerning public decency. Sturdy and fitted costumes are required; you should not be falling out of your costume and it should not be coming apart around you. 18+ and 21+ events will require attendees to show some form of authenticated ID, such as a state appointed driver’s license or passport. When attending these events, remember to have a Photo ID ready or you will not be allowed in. There will be no exceptions permitted.
All signs, whether for a costume prop or not, are not allowed unless approved by Tomodachi Fest staff. Unapproved signs will be confiscated. Posters or flyers used to advertise events and other such activities are allowed, but they must first be approved by Tomodachi Fest staff. If you wish to place flyers or posters, please contact a Tomodachi Fest staff member at registration so that your flyer or poster may be approved. Flyers can only be placed at the table next to registration and no where else.
Photographs and videotape footage by attendees are generally allowed in all common areas of the convention. Please obtain permission first, when photographing or videotaping individuals or costumes. If someone asks or otherwise indicates that they do not wish to be photographed, do not photograph them. Specific rules and restrictions regarding video, audio, and photography may apply to certain specific events.
Tomodachi Fest and the The Boise Hotel and Conference Center are not responsible for lost or missing belongings, but if you should lose something, check with the Lost & Found in Con Ops. Likewise, if you find a lost or misplaced item, please turn it in at Con Ops or the Boise Hotel and Conference Center front desk.
Tomodachi Fest, the Boise Hotel and Conference Center, and its affiliates are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury. Attendee or attendees are responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result. Civil or medical emergencies are to be handled directly by the proper authorities. In no event shall Tomodachi Fest, its officers, affiliates and subsidiaries, or the Boise Hotel and Conference Center have any liability for any incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages hereunder. Attendee or attendees will indemnify, defend, and hold Tomodachi Fest, its officers, affiliates and subsidiaries, or the The Boise Hotel and Conference Center harmless for all losses, cost, liabilities and expenses (including attorney fees and cost) arising out of any claim for damages arising out of any act or event at Tomodachi Fest. Tomodachi Fest holds the right to revoke an attendee membership at anytime for any violations of Tomodachi Fest rules and guidelines, local laws, or state laws without refund. All attendees are considered to be attending Tomodachi Fest at their own risk. Tomodachi Fest reserves the right to refuse service to any individual or group at anytime for any reason.
